2.30 deduce the position of a metal within the reactivity series using displacement reactions between metals and their oxides, and between metals and their salts in aqueous solutions

2.30 •if the reducing agent is more reactive, then it will displace the other metal, so you can see which one is more reactive
                   •this works for metal and metal oxides, and metal and metal solutions
                             •you can use a variety of combinations to determine the ‘mystery’ metal 

         •copper oxide + magnesium = copper + magnesium oxide 
         •copper sulphate + zinc = copper + zinc sulphate
